Bonjour! Hola! Hallo! It’s me Neev! It’s been ages since my last blog and I’ve been missin’ ya all! (Don’t know if you have been missing me…) But anyway, today’s topic is “Wildfires” In the Summer season, here in India you get to witness several wildfires. Not like the ones in Amazon obviously but some dangerous ones.
Several people burn the hills purposely. If you burn the grasses on the hills then you get a better crop for your cattle and leave the trees unharmed, which is understandable but, several birds suffer and die due to the harmful emissions of the burning grass. Besides, do you think that there is no pollution when there are hills that get burned? Of course, there is a lot of pollution contributing to our most hated thing, Climate Change! We can’t possibly control natural forest fires, or can we? Generally, the fire spreads only if there is a continuous supply of fuel (Dry vegetation) along with its path. The best way to control a forest fire is, therefore, to prevent it from spreading, which can be done by creating firebreaks in the shape of small clearings of ditches in the forests. So there you have it. A little about forest fires. We will talk about more such info in the next blog! Sorry if any mistakes have occurred or I sound rude. 😉

Sup! It’s me. Now I know I said that no blogs until the 22nd of this month, but… Ya. So as most of you know that the Indian festival of “Holi” is on the 18th of this month! It’s exciting, isn’t it? It is for humans but, not so much for the planet.
So here’s the deal. Holi is cool and all but the amount of water that gets wasted is like… BRO! JUST STOP! I don’t mean to disgrace or insult the festival so here me out. An average person wastes about 30 litres of water on Holi! That is basically 10 litres more than the daily per capita requirement. So, you just waste too much water. I get it. It’s all fun and games for us but there are 3-4 million people who die due to lack of water every single day. I am not insisting on not playing Holi. Just that don’t play Holi with water, play it with dry colours like I do! Thanks for giving me time and reading this blog post. Be Safe and Have a Good One and I am out! Sorry if any mistakes have occurred or I sound rude. 😉 #WaterLessHoli #SaveWaterThisHoli #DryColoursRule! PS: This is seriously my last blog till the 2nd:) |
AuthorHey! I am a regular 12 year old. Well, I know I can't change the world, but the least I could do is make people aware of the harm we as humans are causing. Archives
