Well, most of us have come across the term “Dead Rivers”, haven’t we? If you haven’t, then let me brief you a little. Dead rivers are when rivers become so gross and have such unhabitable surroundings that no fish or any life for that matter can survive in the dirty water. Any fishes living in the river instantly die. This is the Netravati river located in Karnataka. It is considered to be a holy river and people are supposed to take a dip in this river before entering a holy place called “Dharmasthala.” But I guess people just don’t understand the meaning of “dip” because I saw them shampooing and putting soap in the river. Making it dirty and gross, considering it is a holy river, how can people make this river dirty let alone all the other rivers. And what is ironic is what I saw a board outside saying “HOLY RIVER, KEEP CLEAN.”
Well, I guess it is enough but I hope we all should understand how important our rivers are and we should keep them clean. Thanks for giving me time and reading this blog post. Be Safe and Have a Good One and I am out! Sorry if any mistakes have occurred or I sound rude. 😉
